Michael Arbow

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, Michael Arbow has worked and studied the world of financial capital in Canada, Australia and the U.S.  His most recent position was with the New Brunswick Securities Commission where as the Capital Markets Specialist his role was to develop and execute an initiative to foster the province’s private and public equity market.

Originally from Toronto, he graduated with a BA (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario.  Upon graduation, Michael moved to Sydney, Australia to study at the Securities Institute of Australia.  From Sydney, he went to London, England to watch, learn and participate in the Big Bang; the much touted evolution and de-regulation of the City of London’s financial markets.  Michael joined the London Merrill Lynch office which at the time was the largest retail operation outside of the US.  As a broker advising a multi-national globally dispersed cliental and served as the office’s Canadian market specialist.  From Merrill, he moved to a medium size insurance firm to advise and facilitate entrepreneurs seeking finance.  Returning to Canada after 12 years, Michael worked for BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor and then Irving Oil Ltd. as a Business Analyst.

Mr. Arbow has an MBA from Dalhousie University, teaches Investment Analysis at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
